Life energy, known as chi in China or ki in Japan, flows through channels in the body called meridians. Each meridian is associated with one of the 5 Elements: Fire, Earth, Metal, Water, or Wood. The 5 Elements represent different qualities, substances and processes of life. The balance of ki (energy) among these 5 Elements determines the overall condition of one’s mind and body, which are inextricably linked.

Meridian Touch™ focuses on allowing the body to "find its own way," examining one's own unique condition and improving it from the inside out. In simple terms, guiding principle of Meridian Touch is to relax into the exercises and allow them to be effortless.

Because Meridian Touch™ is even less strenuous than Classical Yoga, it is suitable to a larger set of practitioners, from highly conditioned athletes to stressed out executives, arthritic seniors, people recovering from injury or illness, or anyone looking to ease into improving their physical, mental, and emotional well-being.

The Art of Letting Go
  1. Meridian Touch™ is a gentle, holistic exercise system based on Zen, Taoist philosophy, and Oriental medicine. Rooted in the same theory and tradition as acupuncture, t’ai chi, and shiatsu, Meridian Touch™ is suitable for all ages, body types, and fitness levels.
  2.
  3. Meridian Touch™ exercises are simple and pleasant to do. They require very little physical exertion, but generate profound results. The focus is on relaxation, moving freely, listening to what the body has to tell us, and learning to recognize and release built-up stress and blocked energy.
